A quality manual is a very important reference of the company’s systems documentation. It is imperative to ensure that the quality manual be developed correctly, concise with accurate information and with professionalism. Through proper documentation it clearly explains to everyone the company’s commitment to quality through its management mission/ vision, quality policy and quality objectives, system/processes, procedures and methodologies.

Course Objectives:
On completion of the program, the participant will be expected to:

  • Gain knowledge of documenting a quality management system according to the requirements of ISO9001: 2000 Standard;
  • Be able to write procedures, policies and quality plan related to ISO9001: 2000 Standard;
  • Be able to understand the hierarchy of documentation and the different types of documents including the necessary procedure to control documents; and 
  • Understand why documenting a quality management system is important.

Target Participants:
Open to all personnel who are interested in documenting an ISO9001: 2000 Quality Management System. Companies who are already ISO9000: 1994 certified but wish to apply for version 2000 Certification. Companies who want to start their quality manual based on the requirement of ISO9001: 2000 standards. (All participants should have a basic knowledge or have attended ISO9001: 2000 Awareness Course).

Once a quality system is in place, it is necessary to introduce control measures that will inform the management if the system established is suitable and effective to meet their objectives and improve day to day operations of the company.  One of the measures to evaluate a quality system is through performance of an internal audit.  This will guide the company in effectively implementing its documented system and identify areas for improvement.
