The 1st Entrepreneurial E-Commerce Excellence (E3) Awards
Mozcom and UnionBank team up to bring you the first Entrepreneurial E-Commerce Excellence (E3) Awards.
Calling on all budding entrepreneurs from top universities in the country to join this rare opportunity to show off their technical genius and business acumen in the development of innovative e-business ideas. The country’s most comprehensive online payment system, Mozcom PayEasy, and the country’s leading e-commerce banks, UnionBank, co-present the “First Entrepreneurial E-Commerce Excellence (E3) Awards.”
This e-commerce advocacy campaign is open to all duly enrolled college or post-graduate students from reputable schools. Each contestant must submit an E-commerce entry or - any business project that would require an online payment or transaction component. Business concepts developed for the competition may use commercial or open source development tools andplatforms.
Objective:
To encourage the development and adoption of e-commerce in the Philippines and to provide incentives and support to would-be online entrepreneurs.
Contest Rules:
- Contestant(s) must be a duly-enrolled college or post-college student for school year 2006-07 in a reputable school
- Contest entries may be any project which involves an online payment or transaction component. The project proposal need not be 100% online (ie. actual delivery of goods may be physical). Several examples of commercial e-commerce sites can be found here.
- Ideas may be implemented using any commercial or open source development tool and platform. Contestant(s) may opt to use and customize off-the-shelf Mozcom NetPresence e-commerce solutions to implement the idea. Mozcom can extend technical assistance for projects that use its turnkey solutions including PayEasy payments.
Mechanics:
- Interested parties should fill-up the online contest entry form together with the product/service write-up to Mozcom Inc. on or before Nov 15, 2006. (Click here to go to the online contest entry form)
- Applicant may be an individual or a team composed of not more than 5 students.
- There is no limit to the number of entries a single applicant may submit.
- Pre-screening will be conducted from Nov 16 to 20 to determine finalists.
- Project will be implemented from Nov 21, 2006 to Feb 28, 2007.
- Finalists are required to present their entries to the Board of Judges for the initial presentation on Mar 1 to 10, 2007.
- A grand prize and a runner-up will be awarded.
- Awarding will be held on Mar 15, 2007.

- Originality (20%)
- Innovativeness (20%)
- Usefulness (20%)
- Market Potential (20%)
- Implementation (20%)
Prizes:
- Cash prize of P50,000 and Trophy for Grand Prize; P20,000 and Plaque for the Runner-up; and Plaques for the finalists
- Contract for continued commercialization of winning entry, which will include hosting, payment processing, backend support, marketing and advertising
- Winners will be featured in Mozcom and PayEasy websites
