The Image Resizer Powertoy gives you a right-click option to resize images to more user-friendly dimensions.

Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP

How many of you have a Digital SLR camera and shoot using the RAW format? So how do you preview your shots on your windows desktop? A majority would probably answer that they are using some 3rd party software that either came with their camera or they bought somewhere else online. That is just fine, but what if you just want to quickly preview those photos you have in RAW format. Firing up a 3rd party app would probably take long so why not preview it within windows explorer instead?

Windows XP doesn’t support previews of images in RAW format out-of-the-box but you can always install a powertoy for that Check out Microsoft’s RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP.

Microsoft continues to update this powertoy to offer support for new models of Digital SLR cameras that are launched in the market. The RAW image powertoy was recently updated and is now in Version 1.0 build 50 which supports the Canon EOS 5D and Nikon D50, D70s and D200 cameras. They’ll probably release a newer build this summer to support the Canon EOS 30D and other newer models of DSLRs.

With this powertoy installed you’ll be able to preview thumbnails of your photos in RAW format within the windows explorer interface and it even gives you the option to save the file to a different format!
